Blake Lively On The Reason Behind Her Baby Name Choice
The actress has finally revealed the reason behind her baby girl’s unusual name choice
Since Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds announced the name of their baby daughter, James, we’ve been wondering why the Hollywood couple decided to give her a traditionally masculine name.
But now Blake, who has a gender-neutral name herself, has put a lid on the speculation and revealed the reason behind her choice.
Appearing on Good Morning America, the mum of one admitted that the name James means a lot to her.
“It’s a family name and I liked having a boy’s name so I thought I would pass it on,” she says.
As well as giving her daughter a strong named, Blake also shared some empowering advice that she has ready for her daughter.
“Don’t let anyone tell you ‘no’,” says Blake. “If something hasn’t been done before, it doesn’t mean it can’t be done – you can be the first one."
The actress also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to discuss life at home with a baby and joked that she takes on the majority of the baby duties.
The 27-year-old said that her husband Ryan is ‘pathetic’ at parenting, saying, “I do everything, he does nothing!”
Despite only giving birth in December, Blake showed off her wow-factor post-baby body on both TV appearances.
The actress hasn’t hidden away since becoming a mum and made her post-pregnancy comeback at New York Fashion Week in February, showing not a HINT of a baby bump.
Blake’s always been something of a style icon and put on an impressive sartorial display in New York yesterday, parading her slim frame in over 10 different looks.
Clearly she isn’t a jeans, T-shirt and Converse type of mum!
