BINTM's Abigail: 'Tyson Beckford's porn star comments were out of order'

There's no love lost for the lastest model to get the chop from BINTM, Abi Johns

This week, "Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model" said goodbye to dancer Abi Johns but she insists the whole experience put her off modelling for life.

"I'm not used to being a mannequin. I'm used to being on stage and begin heard," explains the budding actress.

"My whole life I've been 80 per cent personality and 20 per cent looks. I was bullied when I was younger so my looks never played a big part in my life."

"But during the competition, they wanted 80 per cent looks from me, 20 per cent personality and I couldn't do that."

This week's show saw the girls take the plunge into some seriously deep waters all in the name of fashion, modelling floaty dresses underwater.

Some of the models were petrified of the prospect of submerging themselves while others took to it like a duck to water (pun intended).

"When the other girls were crying I thought, it can't be that bad," explains Abi. "But when you got in there it was actually really scary. A huge, dark, really deep tank with steam coming off it!"

Abi was one of the girls who's photos divided opinion with the other models loving her shots while Tyson was less than impressed.

"The girls all said I looked great but then the feedback from the judges was the absolute opposite - it didn't make any sense. I don't think mine was the worst photo of the week."

"It all went a bit pear-shaped."

Sure enough, Abi found herself in the bottom four again despite Elle really liking her photos but the 18-year-old took it in her stride.

"I was in the bottom four so much I started to enjoy it! Time goes a lot quicker in that room," joked Abi.

Abi became the latest girl to leave the competition but insists that the judges' obsession with her past as a dancer meant she could never really shine.

"They needed to get over the fact that I had a part-time job as a hostess/dancer at a nightclub,' explained Abi.

"They brought it up all the time to the point where I was getting a bit bored of the comments. I felt like, why am I here if you're not going to concentrate on the modelling?"

Tyson in particular seemed to focus on Abi's sexuality over her model potential, comparing her to glamour models and porn stars.

"Tyson's comments say more about him than they do about me. I would never insult him like that on TV," says Abi.

"I've never done that kind of dancing or anything even remotely like glamour modelling and for you to put me in that category actually hurts. I'm not that kind of girl."

The judges' comments left the Londoner doubting her own ability and unable to relax into any of the shoots.

"I really liked the beach shoot but I constantly felt like I was having to prove myself because of the negative comments from the judges so I couldn't really let go."

"They'd already said I looked like a Page Three girl, so I couldn't be too sexy."

While Abi looks forward to a life away from modelling, she tips Sophie to win the competition.

"She's so lovely and can produce the best photos without even getting slightly big-headed."
