Attention All Frozen Fans: Elsa, Anna And The Gang Have Landed At Disneyland Paris For A Snowy Summer Adventure

We had a sneak peek at the Frozen Summer Fun that’s taking over Disneyland Paris for the next few months and it truly was a magical experience…

Home to Sleeping Beauty’s castle, a daily all-singing, all-dancing parade, a multitude of rides for all ages and a generally dreamy atmosphere, Disneyland Paris is pretty darn near perfect – whether you’re three or thirty.

But it’s just got even better.

Europe’s biggest tourist destination has only gone and added ‘Frozen’ to its agenda, making the dreams of children (and adults) throughout Europe quite literally come true as it finally includes the magic of the fifth-highest grossing film of all time into it’s already jam-packed summer schedule.

When you wish upon a star, and all that.

All summer long, park visitors will be able to experience the delights of the hit film as Disneyland Paris brings Arendelle to life – quite literally.

Not only will you be able to wander around Cottonwood Creek Ranch’s snow-coated sweet stalls and dig into an Olaf-topped cupcake, you’ll be able to show off your vocal talents in the ‘Frozen’ sing-along. And trust us, even if you don’t think you’re a fan you’ll be singing your heart out so resolutely that the 18-minute long show will be over before you know it. Sob. But with six to 12 performances a day, seven days a week, the singers need to keep it short.

Atop the rather impress ice-coated stage, the show’s stars have no problem in tempting the audience in singing along to the lyrics that are helpfully displayed on large screens (in both French and English, phew).

All of the film’s top tunes are performed, including ‘Do You Wanna Build A Snowman’, ‘Love Is An Open Door’ and ‘In Summer’. Did we forget to mention ‘Let It Go’? Obviously that’s in there too, saved until the end so that guests are sure to leave the theatre humming the Oscar-winning tune for the rest of the day.

It’s not just the one appearance for the singing sisters, though. They’re busy ladies, that Elsa and Anna.

Head to main street at 5.30pm for the park’s much-loved daily parade and you’ll spot the duo piling on the charm as they cruise by on their frosty float, waving to their fans. Arrive early to get a good spot on the pavement, as the streets resemble a teeny bopper festival with diddy Disney fans waiting eagerly in their finest Elsa attire.

Clearly the hefty £50 price tag doesn’t put parents off treating their own little princess to the icy queen’s blue frock during their park visit as everywhere we turned we saw a dozen Elsa lookalikes. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the other princesses of our youth have clearly shot down the popularity hierarchy.

If you miss the parade, or want to use the time to cram in as many rides as possible sans queues, there are a couple of other opportunities to get that coveted Instagram snapshot of the Arrendelle royals.

Both Elsa and Anna go for a spin in their carriage several times each day, so you’re bound to spot them on one of their tours.

If you haven't got your fill of Frozen, don't panic. There’s one last appearance from the Ice queen herself – and it's the best, we reckon. If you, and your little ones, are able to stay awake until 11pm (it’s a stretch when you’re up at the crack of dawn to beat the queues), we definitely recommend taking in the seriously impressive nighttime Disney Dreams show.

Using fountains and pyrotechnics, where iconic characters are projected onto the Sleeping Beauty castle, you can’t help but sing your heart out to hits from ‘The Lion King’, ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’, and, you guessed it, ‘Frozen’.

But while Frozen Summer Fun is undoubtedly a highlight, there are plenty of other must-visits worth a shout out.

Thunder Mountain, a twisting and turning rollercoaster in Frontierland was so good that we went on it twice – once in the dark, which was even better as you could see across the entire lit-up park. And the new Ratatouille ride, next door in Walt Disney Studios Park, is great family-friendly option, which uses clips from the film to take you on a gentle 3D adventure.

But considering there are 59 attractions, 63 shops and 55 restaurants we’re certain you’ll be able to have a blast however you decide to spend your time at Disneyland Paris.

When To Go
Frozen Summer Fun is running from 1 June to 13 September 2015, but you'll need to book by 30 June so you don't miss your chance to visit.

How To Get There And Where To Stay
We travelled by Eurostar from London's St Pancras to Disneyland itself and stayed at Disney's Sequoia Lodge on our visit, a quick 10-15 minute stroll to the park entrance. Prices for a two-night/three-day package including standard class return travel with Eurostar in July 2015 start from £1,318.60, based on a family of four sharing (children aged three to seven years). The price includes two nights’ accommodation with continental breakfast at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge and three day park hopper tickets for Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.

The same package staying at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne starts from £1,104.12, based on a family of four sharing (children aged three to seven years). Children under seven years old stay and play for free during the Summer Frozen Fun celebrations.
