Alexa Chung sports monochrome for Chanel event

Alexa Chung styled it up at the 8th Annual Chanel Tribeca Fillm Festival Artists' Dinner, nailing both the monochrome trend and hot beauty look of the moment, striking red lips.

The FROW stalwart wore a white, sleeveless, above-the knee tunic dress with pearl buttons decorating the front. She paired her red carpet look with a pop of red lipstick and monochrome accessories.

Alexa, 29, kept her look timeless and elegant, with a small black shoulder bag and monochrome flats.

Aside from the red lips, she kept her beauty look simple, with beige accented eye shadow that complemented her green eyes and a simple centre-parted hairstyle with natural shoulder-length tousled waves.

The TV presented cheekily held up her phone to take pictures of the surrounding photographers, showing off what appears to be a black Chanel iPhone cover - very appropriate for the event.

Usually opting for a very laid-back, natural look when it comes to beauty, the British star has recently been experimenting with brighter coloured lips, in bright red and matte pink, and pulling the look of perfectly, we reckon.

The dinner was held in New York, with models, actors and socialites out in force. Also snapped on the red carpet was the teenage star of Mad Men, 13-year-old Kiernan Shipka, who's been enjoying her arrival on the fashion circuit thanks to the hit show.

Like many of the guests Kiernan opted for a dress by the host, wearing a patterned, blue, Chanel dress teamed with a hot pink Chanel bag, giving her elegance beyond her years.
