The 5 things you should NEVER say by text

Does texting make us more honest? Or are there some things easier said by text? As researchers at the University of Michigan say we’re more open to disclosing sensitive information via text, Cosmo reveals the five things that should never be conveyed through the medium of a text message. Ever.

1. “I don’t think this is working.”

Admit it, you’d be up in arms if a guy sent it to you, so same goes. Breaking up over text just ain’t cool, whoever you are. As easy as it is to send that text, it’ll be much better coming from you in person. So suck it up...

2. “Don’t tell anyone, but...”

As a general rule, if your text starts with this then DON’T hit that send button. Secrets should be told face-to-face where the person can’t press a forward button. Word.

3. “I’m pregnant.”

Seriously, step away from that mobile. Do you really want to give your partner a ‘bringing life into this world’ moment to happen on your iPhone? In fact, anything involving your ladyparts shouldn’t be discussed over text. Unless it’s a sext, obvs.

MEN STRESS ABOUT TEXTING TOO

4. “I love you.”

If you’re ready to use the big ‘L’ for the first time, PLEASE don’t text it. Apart from the obvious fact that you’ll not be able to bask in the actual L.O.V.E with your man, how the hell are you supposed to gauge his reaction? And what if you get a “you too,” or a “:)”back. *shudder*

5. “Soz :(

Would you forgive someone who apologised with an emoticon – insincere much? If it’s a big enough deal that you genuinely feel bad, say sorry in person or even over the phone. And NEVER attempt to carry on an argument via text where your harsh words are much harder to erase. Of course, if it’s something stupid – then feel free to soz away. Sozzers.
