It’s emerged that women only feel completely confident when they’re wearing classic, figure enhancing clothes and perfectly applied make-up.

The average woman also requires matching underwear, little cleavage – but as much leg displayed as possible to feel good, according to 1,000 women surveyed by Superdrug.
“What seems to be important is looking more classic and elegant than casual or urban,” said Sara Wolverson from Superdrug, which commissioned the study.
“[This] means women are opting for clothes which complement their figure, and make up which suits their complexion and colouring.”

Make-up wise, women feel most confident with a natural, post-holiday tan, French manicure, dark smokey eye and tumbling blonde locks, the study concluded.
But one in five women surveyed said they felt most attractive with just a slick of eyeliner and mascara, while most women prefer a dab of lipgloss or natural-coloured lipstick – although flawless foundation is essential for complete confidence.
The study revealed that the majority of women prefer the natural look, with 84 per cent of respondents saying they prefer the ‘less is more’ approach when it comes to make-up.

Women also like to wear figure-enhancing pencil skirts, skinny jeans and tailored trousers to feel good, with 11 per cent of women saying they felt best in a cleavage revealing top.
“When it comes to feeling great everyday, the perfect look is about clothing, hair and make-up that doesn’t make [women] feel self-conscious,” said Sara.
“There’s a time and place for wild and wacky make-up and hair, but for the everyday perfect look, the classic option is a winner.”
