Victoria Beckham's fashion career will soar thanks to David Beckham's move to Paris St Germain

Fashion designer will be on the same turf as Chanel, Christian Dior and Oscar de la Renta thanks to Becks' latest signing

David Beckham's decision to sign with Paris St Germain - and donate his £170,000 a week salary to a children's charity - has made headlines around the globe.

And while football fans are busy applauding the former England captain's move to the French club, fashion critics are considering what this will mean for his wife's rapidly-growing fashion career.

Victoria Beckham may have only been in the fashion industry for a mere matter of seasons, but her designs have created a cult following within A-list circles.

Her penchant for classic, sophisticated designs that feature strong silhouettes has seen her frocks being worn on dozens of red carpets, as the stars clamour for a piece of VB style.

And while many thought Victoria's fledging career may suffer with life in LA, the mother-of-four proved the geographical distance from some of the world's biggest fashion cities was not a disadvantage.

So with the success of her Victoria Beckham collection, accessories line, upcoming e-commerce site and soon-to-launch greatest hits range already under her belt, she only stands to improve with David's latest move.

Victoria will be based predominantly in London for the forseeable - her studio can be found in south London - but it's inevitable her visits to the French capital will now increase as David is expected to be holed up there throughout the week.

And while her husband will be busy training with his new squad, Victoria will find herself mixing with some of the world's greatest fashion talent - with her circle of influences expected to grow considerably.

The British designer will be on home turf with the likes of Christian Dior, Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent to name but a few.

In the home of haute couture, Victoria will find herself being exposed to not only centuries of style and a beautiful city, but a whole host of new influences - which should impact her future collections.

Karl Lagerfield has previously declared his love for the city, saying he'll never tire of Paris and that he just 'likes to look at the city' that has provided him with so much inspiration throughout his career.

With the fashion weeks season just around the corner, VB will find herself immersed in the fashion world like never before.

And with her husband's new football club giving her a front row seat to the Paris fashion world, brand Beckham is destined to continue to defy her critics.
