Unsaturated fat is any fat that doesn’t come from an animal source, such as meat and dairy. Unsaturated fat is found in plant based foods, such as olives, avocado, grains, seeds and nuts. This type of fat is considered healthier than saturated fat as they do not raise cholesterol to the same level. Omega-3 fatty acids are a type of unsaturated fat and can be found in oily fish such as mackerel, sardines, tuna and salmon.
