    Teen bullied for acne has last laugh as she models at New York Fashion Week

    Cassandra Bankson’s brave make-up free video of how she transforms her blemished face became an online hit last year, and now she’s been signed up to model

    Cassandra Bankson has been booked as a model for New York Fashion Week © Barcroft MediaA teenager who made a YouTube video showing how she uses make up to cover her cystic acne has been booked as a model for New York fashion week.

    The makeup expert was bullied about her acne and forced to stop taking classes at school, after being labeled “The Virus” and “Pizza Face” by her fellow pupils.

    Cassandra struck up the courage to post a make-up tutorial on YouTube about how she conceals her acne, showing her face before and after make-up.  The clip has had more than 40 million hits.

    And today she’s had the last laugh as she’ll be making her catwalk debut on the runway for Boy Meets Girl's SS13 collection at New York Fashion Week.

    “It feels like a dream to be here during Fashion Week,” the model told the New York Post.

    “I am a different person from who I used to be because I’ve got so much more confidence now.”

    In her ten minute YouTube video which propelled her to stardom, she reveals how she transforms her face from acne-ridden to a flawless complexion.

    “Taking my make-up off is one of the most insecure things that I could probably do.”

    She then bares her face to her viewers, before applying layers of primers, foundations, powders and setting sprays in order to achieve a radiant, flawless complexion.

    Since the video, she’s been booked for modelling jobs with Range Rover and Bebe – and she says her skin condition has improved by 70 per cent.

    But something tells us her New York Fashion Week debut may be her proudest moment to date.
