Stop your toddler from escaping their car seat

    The car seat problem

Toddlers are renowned for their fearless behaviour, constantly pushing the boundaries between what is safe and not and believe me, as a parent I have seen my fair share of risk taking from my son. One of the worst scares I have had to date was while out in the car with Ben, my very strong-willed toddler, who had taken to freeing his arms from his car seat straps in an attempt to play with the door handle. This was not only frightening but distracting and I knew I had to find something to stop him and quickly. I decided to have a look online and thankfully I came across the Houdini Stop Carseat Chest Clip, it sounded like the ideal solution so I decided to give it a try.

    How it works

Basically the Houdini Stop Carseat Chest Clip consists of a strap with two clips either end which you attach at nipple level to the straps of your child's car seat which prevents them from getting their arms free - a very clever, effective yet simple design in my opinion. It is easy to fit and use which was one of my concerns.

    The toddler test

It is a few months now since we fitted the Houdini Stop on our son's Britax Safefix car seat and I can totally vouch for the fact that it works. I remember well the first time we clipped Ben in using it, he tried so hard to wriggle his way out of the straps but there was no way he was escaping. He finally admitted defeat and exclaimed "Ben no like this!" which made both me and his Dad smile smugly.

    Simple but effective solution

I wanted to share my experience of using the Houdini Stop Carseat Chest Clip because I am in no doubt that this is a common problem and there are many parents, like me, who have experienced a child attempting to escape from their car seat who will be very glad to hear that there is a solution. It is simple and works without stressing your child out or any hassle to install for you. The other good thing worth mentioning is that it can be used to stop a child trying to escape from a highchair or stroller too if that is a problem for you.

I can highly recommend this product. It does exactly what it is designed to do and believe me my son has definitely put it to the test! It really has given me peace of mind.
