'Spitfire baby' whose labour lasted five minutes can dance Gangnam Style, walk and talk - all before his first birthday

Heather Thorpe reveals her son Jonathon shot into the world in less than five minutes - and is still impressing with his quick development

You would think he'd slow down after launching himself into the world in a labour that lasted just five minutes.

But a tot nicknamed 'Spitfire baby' is clearly continuing to live life in the fast lane - by walking, talking and even dancing Gangnam Style all before his first birthday.

Heather Thorpe, 24, was the envy of women the world over when she had a labour that lasted just 300 seconds.

She revealed he shot into the world "like a little Spitfire" on November 22, weighing in at 5lbs and 7oz.

And he's showing no signs of slowing down since, learning an impressive array of skills and all before turning one tomorrow.

After learning to walk and talk when he was just seven months, Jonathon loves dancing and is increasingly tech-savvy - even mastering how to use his mum's laptop.

And while most youngsters his age are just getting up on their feet, he can use a remote control to change TV channels and dance along to his favourite song Gangnam Style.

Speaking about her son's rapid development, Heather said: "He's intelligent, strong and clever, we can't quite believe how quickly he's progressed.

"He was already calling me 'mummy' by seven months and he's very chatty now.

"The way he picks new things up is amazing, he seems to learn really quickly. It must have something to do with the way he was born.

"He was born quickly and his development's been super-fast as well."

She continued: "Jonathon's got the mind of a two-year-old. He does get through clothes very fast though - his feet are already too big for 12-18 month sizes in the shops, and he loves food.

"For his birthday we're really spoiling him, we've got him a mini piano and a drum-set, he already loves music.

"He's a big One Direction fan and he loves Peter Andre too. But his absolute favourite TV show is Jeremy Kyle - he loves to watch that every morning.

"It's been an amazing year with him and we can't wait to see what the future brings."

And having whizzed into the world at record time, doting grandparents Mark, 53, and Marrion, 49, said they slept through most of Heather's labour at the family home in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham.

The quickfire birth happened at 4am on November 22 last year.

Heather had gone to bed at 11pm the night before, but she had a powerful contraction at 3.55am despite her waters not breaking.

She recalled: "I got the urge to push and he came into the world at 4am.

"We took him to Heartlands Hospital to him checked over and they said he was fine. It was incredible."
