Spice Girls to auction off iconic outfits for charity

From tracksuits to cat suits the Spice Girls' world famous wardrobe is set to be auctioned

This December fans of the girl group will be able to ‘spice’ up their wardrobe when the Spice Girls auction a selection of their most famous outfits for charity.

Coinciding with the launch of the Spice Girls-themed musical Viva Forever!, Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown will put their best-loved outfits from the past 16 years under the hammer.

The auction is said to be taking place at a star-studded party where Victoria will give away some of her PVC dresses, Mel B will add her Buffalo boots and Mel C will donate some of her Adidas tracksuits.

Unfortunately Geri’s Union Jack dress from the 1997 Brit Awards will not be up for sale, as it’s currently on display at the Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas but she will throw in some of her sparkly mini dresses for good measure and Emma’s baby-doll frocks will also feature in the auction.

“I've got all my costumes still. I can't wait for Harper to grow a little so she can have some. But the rest I'd like to put up for charity, I think it would be a fantastic thing to do,” Victoria told the Mirror.

And one item she will happily see go up for auction is the girls’ platform trainers.

Geri let slip: “It was the Buffalo shoes that Victoria really wants to wear again! She hated them – she wouldn’t wear them.”

Grinning, Victoria quipped: “No, I didn’t, no really... I just didn’t want to wear them myself.”

All proceeds from the auction will go to Save The Children and Children In Need.
