The number of stay at home dads in the UK has risen 10 times in the past 10 years. About 6% of fathers, equivalent to 600,000 men, now consider themselves to be their child's primary carer, up from 60,000 in 2000.
In this episode of Bumps, Babies & Beyond, Myleene Klass is joined by Rob Kemp, author of “The Expectant Dads Survival Guide” and two stay at home dads, Jamie and Andy, discuss the merits and challenges of being a stay at home dad.
They say being a stay at home dad is unlike any other job or career you may have had before. It is certainly not the easy option that some people think it to be and you don’t get paid, but it can be rewarding and fulfilling too.
But one even admits: ‘There are days when I can play on the Xbox for half an hour’.
