Rita Ora confirmed as the new face of Madonna's fashion line, Material Girl

'R.I.P' singer announces partnership with Madonna over Twitter

Rita Ora has confirmed she will follow in the footsteps of model BFF Cara Delevingne after becoming new face of Madonna's teenage fashion line, Material Girl.

The "R.I.P." singer made the announcement via Twitter late last night:

Along with the tweet, she posted a photo to her Instagram account of herself with the Queen of Pop (and her new boss), Madonna.

In the snap, Rita is wearing an all-white outfit finished off with a collection of badges with slogans like "Material Girl loves Rita".

The deal with the label run by Madonna and her 16-year-old daughter Lourdes (or Lola) will reportedly earn the singer £500,000 and Rita has 'Lola' to thank.

A source told The Sun: "Lourdes has been a fan of Rita for a while and has been to many of her gigs. She persuaded her mum to see her."

"They met at the Met Ball in New York and Madonna admired Rita’s attitude so signed the idea off."

Rita has already shot the campaign but there is no word yet as to when the photos will be released.

The 22-year-old is the latest celebrity to become the face of the brand, following Kelly Osbourne, Taylor Momsen and Georgia May Jagger.

We wonder if a musical collaboration might be next?
