A mammoth bacon cheeseburger in the US has taken the crown as the world’s biggest burger. Created by the Black Bear Casino Resort in Minnesota, it measures 10 feet (three metres) in diameter and weighs 143 stone (2,014lbs).
Other facts about the record breaker include its weight, 1,600lbs, which is heavier than a Smart car, and its hefty ingredient list. The whopping snack contains 60lbs of bacon, 40 lbs of cheese, and as a nod to nutrition, 50lbs of lettuce.
Guinness World Records rep Philip Robertson verified the burger and praised the group behind it, saying it was the result of “remarkable teamwork”. He added that it “actually tastes really good”. According to the Duluth News Tribune, the previous record-holding burger weighed in at a mere 881lbs.
The meat patty was so heavy it had to be flipped over using a crane during the four hours it took to cook.
Let’s just hope plenty of burger fans were on hand to eat it before it went cold!
