Controversial fashion and beauty ads

The advertising watchdogs have had a busy year putting make-up, skincare, fashion and fragrance companies under fire for misleading their audience with ‘unrealistic’ and ‘irresponsible’ adverts. Haliee Steinfeld’s Miu Miu campaign

Not long after Dakota’s fragrance ban the ASA brought out their rulebook again and pulled a Miu Miu ad featuring actress Hailee Steinfeld.

Although the images seemed harmless the ASA ruled the ads were "irresponsible" as the images could encourage teens to put themselves in unsafe situations.
