New research reveals our confidence cripplers and female heroines

According to a new survey of British women by tampon brand Li-Lets, men are still the cause of some of our biggest confidence issues.

Researchers discovered that a fifth of women wished they were more confident when talking to men and going on dates.

The majority of the women surveyed admitted that being dumped by a man was the biggest blow to their confidence, closely followed by struggling to keep up at work.

But it’s not all negative! The survey showed that women reach their confidence peak at age 32 due to a firmly established circle of supportive friends and family.

On average, women admitted to having just four close friends who they can rely on and trust in times of crisis.

60% of women saw ‘knowing where you’re going in life’ as a crucial aspect to self belief, which proves just how ambitious, career driven and determined we really are!

Plus, 52% said that having one long term partner in their relationship back catalogue (or current catalogue!) helped to increase their confidence. We understand, but don’t forget that being a single, hard-working and self-sufficient woman is also something to be MASSIVELY confident about!

As part of the extensive research, women were also asked who they were most inspired by. 19% said they admired the poise and classic elegance of Kate Middleton, 17% were spurred on by the incredible work of Florence Nightingale and 15% said they are most inspired by the original blond bombshell, Marilyn Monroe.

Well, we’re glad no one said Katie Price...
