Naomi Campbell channels Tina Turner for V Magazine

If Naomi Campbell’s appearance on the catwalk at Roberto Cavalli’s A/W 2012 show wasn’t enough to convince you she’s still got her supermodel credentials, then here is another reason why the ‘original’ supermodel is still simply the best.

Ms Campbell shows off a honed and toned body embodying legendary pop icon Tina Turner in a stunning fashion editorial for V Magazine’s March issue.

The six-page spread called “Private Dancer” channels some of the memorable looks that Ms. Turner wore during her live performances. Naomi flaunts her famous long legs wearing a series of fringed designer dresses styled by Joanne Blades.

Capturing the rock’n’roll energy, 41-year-old fashion diva Naomi playfully poses in intricate pieces by Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren and Versace.

As the current star of Cavalli's Spring/Summer 2012 campaign, Naomi remains supreme alongside some of the hottest models in the business right now. So how does Ms Campbell maintain her incredible physique?

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2009 Naomi revealed she takes part in a cleansing ritual that involves a cocktail of maple syrup, cayenne pepper, lemon juice and water.

She said: “I try to do this three times a year. The most I've ever done it for is 18 days. It's good just to clean out your body once in a while.”

But of course that’s not the only way she maintains her physique: the model added that she relies on gyrotonic workouts, which involves movements usually found in gymnastics, yoga and Pilates to stay slim.

She said: “I don't like workouts that make you bulky. This really stretches you. What I like about gyrotonics is you feel like you really elongated yourself for the day.

“As we all get older, everything changes and moves, and there's natural ways to exercise. I think it's important, and I think it's something that can help keep things in place.”

It appears Naomi’s well thought out fitness plan has definitely paid off as she continues to grace magazine covers, runways and billboards after two decades in the industry.
