Fat not fully saturated with hydrogen, monounsaturated fats are ‘good fats’. Foods that contain monounsaturated fat include olive oil, rapeseed oil, nuts, avocado and seeds. Monounsaturated fats can help maintain a healthy level of cholesterol, lower stomach fat and reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. They are a healthier option to saturated fat as they have fewer calories and generally maintain a liquid form rather than turning solid.
