Mila Kunis says anyone can lose weight

Actress Mila Kunis says getting in shape and losing weight is all down to your state of mind.

Kunis, who lost 20 pounds to play a ballerina in the Oscar-winning film Black Swan, has said the movie made her change her views on body image, and says she now believes, with proper diet and exercise, it is possible to reach your weight goal.

In the September issue of Glamour UK the 27-year-old admits: “I'm a huge foodie, I love food!" Kunis adds, “But when people say, ‘I can’t lose weight’, [I say] no, you can.”

After enduring a gruelling workout regime for the role, she believes that those battling with their weight can shed pounds if they are truly motivated. Kunis said: “Your body can do everything and anything. You just have to want to do it.”

Preparing for her role as Lily in Black Swan, Kunis went in for training three months before filming began. The actress’s weight dropped from eight to six and a half stone and Kunis said she was stunned at her body transformation.

“I don't think I ever fully realised what a human body is capable of doing. But I think I was also, in a beautiful way, incredibly naive.”

Slimming down to a size zero, Kunis told Glamour UK of how unhappy she was with her super skinny frame.

"I  had no shape, no boobs, no ass. All you saw was bone. In real life, it looked disgusting, but in photographs and on film, it looked amazing."

For this Hollywood star, the only way to stay grounded in an industry based on image is to stay positive. She said: “People are rejected every single day purely based on opinion, about who’s a good actress, who’s a bad actress, who’s pretty, who’s ugly, who’s fat, who’s skinny.

'So why go there? You have to have a positive outlook. Otherwise you’re in a very dark place.”
