All eyes are currently on the First Wives in the run up to the US elections, but as the battle continues, one thing is certain, and that is that Michelle Obama’s sartorial style choices will be greatly missed if Mitt Romney replaces Barack Obama as President. Over the last four years our Michelle has proved herself a true trend-setter in her role of First Wife, as only Jacqueline Kennedy has been before her, pulling one trend after another out of her (admittedly extensive) closet. And do you know what? Her beauty choices aren’t too shabby either...
On the night of the Democratic National Convention Speech Mrs Obama’s hot pink Tracy Reese Dress was off-set with a chic grey nail polish that was soon trending on Twitter. In response to the enormous surge of curiosity surrounding the varnish, the White House was forced to speak out and reveal that the polish in question was in fact Artistic Nail Design Soak Off Colour Gloss in Vogue which retais for $16. Who would have thunk it?
Now it appears Ann Romney has spotted Michelle Obama is onto a good thing, throwing some tips of her own into the beauty equation. At the second presidential debate in New York last week, Ann sported a hot pink Michael Kors number not dissimilar from the Tracy Reese dress worn by Michelle and flashed a flawless blue/grey manicure, again, not unlike Michelle’s grey one. Yikes, it’s all got rather nail varnish at dawn don’t you think? It’s also worth noting that this chic grey palette was also the one favoured by Jackie O but no surprises there...!
