It divided opinion when the cover girl for Playboy's 60th anniversary issue was announced earlier this year.

But Kate Moss has most certainly silenced critics as the eagerly-awaited magazine cover for her shoot was revealed on Monday.

The 39-year-old poses in bunny ears, a black basque and, of course, the classic white tail - looking every inch the sex bomb.

While the cover shot is of her sitting with her back to the camera, glancing coquettishly over her shoulder, what's inside promises to be much more racy.

Kate has completely stripped down for the high-end shoot, by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, in one snap posing in just a black mask with bunny ears attached.

The British star features in a variety of poses and barely-there outfits in the mammoth 18-page spread, which is to celebrate Kate's 40th birthday next year as well as the magazine's anniversary.

And the supermodel certainly seemed proud of the finished product, as she promoted it with a launch party in Mayfair on Monday night.

Kate let the models at the bash wear the bunny girl while she decided to cover up in a chic black tulip dress.

The global superstar even posed for an exclusive Instagram snap for Playboy - pictured laying on the bed while holding the cover over herself.

In the interview for the magazine, Kate said: ''I just want to carry on being inspired, to work and to always find new things. I think that's it, isn't it? That's all I want ... to never get, like, 'I'm bored.' I don't do boredom."

Editorial Director Jimmy Jellinek said: ''Having Kate Moss, a global icon and the most important supermodel of the past 25 years, appear on our cover makes this issue the perfect way to launch Playboy's next 60 years.''
