Fashion's worst kept secret revealed: Kate Moss WILL model for Playboy's 60th anniversary edition

Mossy will strip off for the adult magazine's January/February edition, which will coincide with her 40th birthday

It was one of the worst kept secrets in the fashion industry.

Kate Moss

WILL pose for Playboy magazine's 60th anniversary edition it's been revealed, months after the story was first leaked.

The 39-year-old will reportedly pose nude for the magazine's January/February edition, which will coincide with Mossy's 40th birthday at the start of the year.

Confirming reports of the British supermodel's turn in bunny ears and little else, Jimmy Jellinek - Playboy's editorial director - told the Los Angeles Times: "This is a massive global brand.

"You need a global icon in order to celebrate that - that was the impetus.

"You're talking about the face of Burberry, the biggest supermodel in the world on the cover of Playboy. She's the perfect partner for us to help launch the next 60 years."

Shot by famed photographers Marcus Pigott and Mert Atlas, Kate will apparently be seen in Playboy's trademark velveteen bunny ears, French cuffs and silk stockings for the shoot.

News of La Moss's turn for Playboy was first reported back in June.

Kate's hairstylist Oribe Canales is said to have fuelled rumours when he revealed he's styled the star's hair for a photoshoot in Playboy.

Despite the shoot being somewhat of a landmark for both the magazine and Kate, she's kept tight-lipped about her appearance thus far.

Whether Kate will be as low-key about her 40th birthday is another matter, as she's famed for her partying lifestyle.

The star's latest appearance was at London Fashion Week SS14, where she was spied sat FROW for Topshop's Unique show with pal Sir Philip Green.
