Shocking news this morning, people: Kate Middleton has a new coat dress! The Duchess of Cambridge, known for her recycling style, has just appeared at the Order of the Thistle ceremony in Edinburgh and rather than rewearing an outfit we've seen before, she's looking resplendent in a brand new pale yellow number by Emilia Wickstead. We're excited. Kate's topped off the ladylike look with the Whiteley hat with a curled Parisisal trim that she first sported at the Epsom Derby and repeated at the wedding of Emily McCorquodale to James Hutt last month.

As yet, all we are these blurry snaps of the Duchess' outfit (taken from the Grazia telly box) but do stay tuned because we are on the hunt! We can tell you that the ensemble rather reminds us of the pastel concotion Queenie wore to the Royal Wedding, remember, which will no doubt keep granny-in-law happy. Today, her Majesty is trussed up in the traditional robes with a magnificent feathery hat a-top her head. LOOK:

God Save The Queen! etc. So what have the Royal crew got in store on this fine Thursday? Well, Queenie is due to appoint Prince William to be a Knight of the Order of the Thistle during a ceremony at St Giles Cathedral. Basically, it's the highest honour in Scotland given to those who have contributed in a significant way to national life. How nice. Following the ceremony, a parade of pipers will march down the Royal Mile to the Scottish Parliament and you know what that means? Wills will be sporting another feather-plumed hat. Yes!
Also interesting: William and Kate are known as the Earl and Countess of Strathearn when in Scotland so that's another grand title to add to their CVs, as if the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Catherine AND Kate Middleton wasn't enough for the new royal. Rather confuzzling, isn't it?
