Kate Middleton can rest assured her style crown is in place, as she makes Vanity Fair's Best Dressed List

Vanity Fair's International Best Dressed List 2013: The Duchess of Cambridge joins Kerry Washington and Victoria Beckham in the coveted list

The Duchess of Cambridge might be busy embracing her new role as a mother to the royal baby Prince George right now, but she can rest assured that her style crown is still firmly in place.

Kate Middleton's

place as one of the most fashionable women on the planet was assured thanks to Vanity Fair, who've released their coveted International Best Dressed List 2013.

Topping the prestigious poll was US actress Kerry Washington, who has captured the beady eyes of fashionistas everywhere with her love of fairytale gowns and stylish couture.

Typically found wowing red carpets in the likes of Michael Kors, Marchesa and Miu Miu, the actress shot to style notoriety on the Django Unchained publicity circuit back in 2012.

Adding to Kate and Kerry's excellent company on this year's list of style standouts was Victoria Beckham, swiftly followed by the likes of Gisele Bundchen and Beyonce.

Yahoo! Wireless headliner Justin Timberlake was doing it for the boys, with his love of Tom Ford classically-cut suits earning him a place on the list.

Naturally, there were a whole host of unsurprising stylish additions this year, with Charlize Theron, Dita Von Teese and Lara Stone making the fashionable ranks.

But there were a few surprising omissions too, with the most controversial being Michelle Obama.

It's the second year the FLOTUS has missed the list - a fact that's bound to rile critics once more.

She was by no means the only star noticeably missing however, with Marion Cotillard, Rose Byrne and Miranda Kerr.

The list also charts stars on the rise too, with J. Crew's Jenna Lyons, Chinese first lady Peng Liyaun and fashion blogger Hallie Swanson all gaining mentions.
