Jessica Ennis’ toned abs made her the pin-up girl for the Olympics 2012.
But the gold medal-winning heptathlete has revealed even she has body hang-ups, despite having a figure millions of women aspire to.
Writing in her new autobiography, Unbelievable: From My Childhood Dreams to Winning Olympic Gold, Jess admitted she fears her muscular arms make her look 'butch.'
In fact, the 26-year-old often covers them up as she they make her feel self-conscious.
"As a teenage girl I was more self-conscious," she writes. "I would not wear certain things and to some extent I am the same now and will usually cover my arms.
"I look at myself in the mirror and think I am a bit butch, but you get to a point where you finally understand that looks do not matter so much."
The Sheffield-born athlete also said that like most women, she is self-critical when she looks in the mirror.
She explained: “I don’t look in the mirror and think, 'oh God, yeah.' I don’t think I'm anything special."
