Jennifer Lopez tries to bring back hoop skirts in Christian Dior at Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony

The triple-threat diva was awarded the 2500th star on the world-famous Walk of Fame

Jennifer Lopez has never been afraid to bend some sartorial rules so it was no surprise that she turned up in an elaborate Christian Dior gown to be presented with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Most honourees opt for smart attire, with suits and shift dresses being the norm but Jennifer made sure all eyes were on her in the white and coral dress from Dior's Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

The gown consisted of a simple white cashmere and silk knitted top set off by a billowing coral hoop skirt with a short front hemline to reveal a pair of Brian Atwood black ankle strap heels.

Although undeniably beautiful, with all the posing and kneeling that comes as standard at these presentations the skirt ended up looking rather creased but in typical style, J.Lo pulled it off.

The "Maid in Manhattan" star was the recipient of the 2500th star and the ceremony was attended by her parents, boyfriend Casper Smart and twins Max and Emme.

The 43-year-old wore her hair in a soft chignon and her bronzed glow matched her outfit perfectly.

Some of Jennifer's co-workers from her years in show business also came out in support of the star and it was like a real-life six degrees of separation.

Pitbull, who collaborated with Jennifer on hits "On the Floor", "Dance Again" and "Live It Up", appeared alongside veteran actress Jane Fonda who worked with J.Lo in 2005's Monster-in-Law who cheered her on in a neon-yellow box jacket.
