Jennifer Aniston's new chopped locks have a bad hair day

Former Friends actress and worldwide hair inspiration Jen loses her flowing locks as she debuts a short brown bob on film set of new movie'Squirrels to the Nuts'

New photos of Jennifer Aniston on the set of her latest film have appeared and we have to say, we're not loving your new look Jen.

The Hollywood star, famed for her bouncy 'Rachel' hair do so popular in the '90s, sported a short, mousy-brown bob in the new pictures - a far cry from the flowing golden locks we're used to seeing on the red carpet.

Jennifer, 44, who's engaged to fellow actor Justin Theroux, has been at the forefront of hair styles since she shot to fame on the TV show Friends

Since then she has rocked a number of styles but has overall stuck to face-flattering layers and shoulder-length or longer cuts. Growing out the extreme layers of the 'Rachel' (one of the most requested hair styles of all time) into a more grown-up, sophisticated version, her locks always radiate health and seem immune to frizz - until now.

In these shots, Jen is surrounded by a fuzzy halo of frizzy strands. Her bob is lazily tousled, as though let dry naturally, and she's had a fringe cut - or so it seems.

But phew! The new 'do is actually a rather convincing (if not very flattering) wig, worn for her role in the new comedy with Owen Wilson and Cybill Shepherd.

At other points during the filming we've seen Jen behind-the-scenes and can assure you that she's definitely still got those gorgeous honey locks we so love.

Jen was also sporting her whopping engagement ring from Justin Theroux throughout the filming. It's not been made clear what character she plays in the movie, but the plot revolves around a Broadway director who falls in love with a prostitute-turned-actress.
