We love a good snoop behind the scenes of a celebrity wedding - so we were pretty darn excited to see pictures of model Elettra Wiedemann's low-key wedding to British restauranteur James Marshall. More than just a fashion aristocracy – Elettra’s mum is iconic model Isabella Rossellini – the 29 year old Lancome spokesmodel is fluent in three languages and is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Biomedicine. How’s that for beauty and brains.

Wearing a simple white gown for the ceremony by Dominican designer Miguelina - “summery and young, without being overly bridal” - Elettra then changed into a silk cocktail frock with a short, Swarovski-encrusted skirt, designed by Giambattista Valli for the all-night dance party held at Marshall’s New York restaurant, Whitehall. Valli had introduced the couple five years before at a London benefit – but it took Marshall six months to call the cover girl.

Other beautiful details included a bouquet of peonies wrapped in Wiedemann’s family lace – which has been in every Wiedemann wedding for four generations, a Swedish princess cake in honour of Wiedemann’s Stockholm-born grandmother, Ingrid Bergman and twenties-era jazz music to recall the romance of Elettra’s paternal grandparents, who were in attendance. Both the wedding rings were from Tiffany’s – picked out while Elettra was shooting the A/W 2012 Tiffany & Co. ad campaign and as a final flourish James presented Elettra with a framed scrap of paper – the original of her telephone number from the day they first met. Bless!
So check out the gorgeous pictures – there’s nothing better than a happy fashion ending!
