Forget cheerleading, US fans waiting to watch their favourite team are more likely to be treated to a top dance performance than acrobatics with pom poms.
Popular US basketball team, the Boston Celtics sent its dance troupe to London to the pop up NBA (National Basketball Association) House in Covent Garden, which was open during the Olympics to encourage British kids to give basketball a go.

Y! Lifestyle decided to leave the basketball to the kids and met up with the Boston Celtics Dancers to find out how we can get our groove on and replicate those toned abs. Faren (pictured second from left) opened up about how she stays in shape. Sadly though, there are no short cuts.
How do you stay so slim?
We go to the gym a lot of the time. I usually go in the break between my part time job and my full time job.
What do you like to do at the gym?
I like the elliptical machine (often known as a cross-trainer). I used to do a lot of the treadmill but I started hurting myself a little bit – I guess I wasn’t running or walking properly. But the elliptical is my friend!
Sometimes I’ll take classes, like a yoga class that they offer at the gym, just to stretch and keep warm. But usually, the elliptical is my favourite thing – that’s what works for me.

What’s your food mantra?
It just varies. I watch what I eat, but I do give myself a splurge day once a week – just once a week though!
What’s your food splurge?
I like these Little Debbie cakes, they’re called Fudge Rounds.
Have you got a sweet tooth then?
Yeah, I love Fudge Rounds! I get them by the box.
Are you missing those from the States?
No, I’m enjoying the chocolate and those little biscuits! I’m not missing anything – I’m just indulging in all the chocolate all the time!
We always knew UK chocolate could beat Hershey’s Kisses any day.
