Helen Mirren steals the show in crimson dress at Red 2 premiere in London

The 67-year-old actress chose beaded Jenny Packham for last night's red carpet

Helen Mirren lived up to her reputation as a style icon as she outshone ladies half her age on the red carpet at the London premiere of 'Red 2'.

The 67-year-old stole the show in a stunning crimson Jenny Packham beaded dress on last night's red carpet in Leicester Square.

Oscar-winner Helen kept her cool with a chic hand-held folding fan on the hottest day of the year, which saw temperatures reach 34 degrees in the capital.

Helen went nude for her accessories with a pair of classic courts and a simple fold over clutch.

Her diamond and ruby necklace and earrings however were positively regal, not that we would expect anything less from the actress who has twice played Queen Elizabeth II.

Dame Helen made sure all eyes were on her despite sharing the red carpet with women over 30 years her junior.

Bruce Willis, Helen's co-star, attended the premiere accompanied by his wife Emma Hemming who, at 35, is 37 years younger than the 'Hitchcock' actress.

Emma opted for the Roland Mouret Titanium dress in teal-blue, also with nude heels but was pretty forgettable in comparison with Dame Helen.

Bruce and Helen's co-star Mary Louise Parker kept it summery on the red carpet in a beautiful grey tulle minidress by Alberta Ferretti.

The delicate beading and floral embroidery contrasted with her metallic Jimmy Choo peep toe heels and boxy Edie Parker clutch for a modern look.

But it was Dame Helen who streaked ahead in the style stakes, making her a fashion icon for women of all ages.
