Gwyneth Paltrow risks a serious wardrobe malfunction at Iron Man 3 premiere in Antonio Berardi cut-out gown

Iron Man 3 premiere: Gwyneth flashes the flesh in a very daring sheer panelled gown on LA red carpet

Gwyneth Paltrow was dangerously close to a serious wardrobe malfunction as she took to the Iron Man 3 premiere last night.

The Goop author, who was yesterday revealed as the Most Beautiful Woman in the World by People,  hit the red carpet in a daring gown with some very revealing sheer side panels.

The dress, which is by designer Antonio Berardi, gave onlookers a full view of the actress’ toned thigh and, darewesay, a view of her bottom too.

Silvery-white panels down the front of the dress created an optical illusion – drawing her slim figure in even more – with teal panelling at the midriff and sleeve cuffs.

Yet it was the sheer black material down the sides and sleeves that drew the most gasps, meaning a lot of the 40-year-old was on display.

Luckily, a navy blue panel down her back covered her from revealing too much, yet when the star turned to the side we caught a definite glimpse of cheek.

Gwyneth, who was joined by Robert Downey Jr for the LA premiere last night, certainly made a splash on the outing.

She teamed her look with poker straight locks worn to the side, with decorative diamond drop earrings and kohled eyes adding extra pop.

Her outing came after she was named People’s World’s Most Beautiful Woman of 2013.

The mother-of-two is one of a long list of stars opting to wear Antonio Berardi's bold designs.

The designer, who has previously worked as John Galliano's assistant, has also dressed Beyonce, Jessica Chastain, Nicole Kidman and Sarah Jessica Parker - to name but a few.

Typically his designs highlight the female form, hugging curves with sleek tailoring.

Yet Gwyneth's could be the most daring design we've ever seen a star debut.
