Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About Her Style Hits And Misses On Goop

Gwyneth Paltrow has delved into her fashion archives to blog about her past style hits and misses on Goop. It's not difficult to guess which is her biggest style miss *COUGH Alexander McQueen... Oscars 2002... NO bra.* But apparently she still loves the dress and says the problem was her makeup.

She said about being responsible for one of the worst Oscar dresses EVER: 'There were a few issues; I still love the dress itself but I should have worn a bra and I should have just had simple beachy hair and less makeup. Then, it would have worked as I wanted it to - a little bit of punk at the Oscars.'

From the ugly to the great... her favourite fashion hits are that amazing white Tom Fords cape gown she wore to the Oscars last year and the pink Prada gown she wore to the Venice Film Festival in 2011. She calls them 'pretty maje' and we have to agree.

So what inspires her style? Gwyneth blogged: 'I am most inspired by women friends who are incredibly stylish in their own way. Stella McCartney always looks amazing. She has a way of making you covet her sweatpants and t-shirt, she just wears clothes so well.'

    Gwyneth's runway picks this season

'I love Rashida Jones' hot nerd vibe and Beyonce’s playfulness in trying different trends. I love Cameron Diaz's ability to rock silver nails and layer tons of tiny gold jewelry. I am also very inspired by street style in London where I have lived pretty much for 10 years.' You love Bey's playfulness you say Gwyn... will you start posing on railway tracks and in hard hats for the sake of fash-wan?

As for runway trends, she is looking towards Proenza Schouler, Matthew Williamson and Preen this season. She wrote: 'I feel inspired when I see innovation in shape, lines and tailoring, making me see clothes in a fresh way. For example, the proportions of the dresses at Preen this season are very forward, while Proenza Schouler has a whole new take on the wrap dress, and Matthew Williamson brings new, bold and appealing printed fabrics.' She posted the runway shots above so perhaps we'll see Gwynny in the red collard Preen or white sleeved Proenza dress above on a red carpet soon.
