Mark Wahlberg has said that 'greed' is the factor that's holding up the long-planned movie version of his TV show 'Entourage'.

Wahlberg, who produced the show, didn't hold back in criticising the comedy-drama's stars for not getting the project moving.

Asked when the film is coming out, he told TMZ: “As soon as them guys stop being so greedy.

“It's one of those things where if the movie is a success, then we'll get to make a lot more of them and everybody will make a lot more money.”

It's previously been reported that both Jeremy Piven, who plays agent Ari Gold, and Adrian Grenier, who plays the lead role of Vince, have been seeking bigger wage deals before they commit.

The film was supposed to begin filming in May this year with Warner Bros, but has since been delayed.

Wahlberg confirmed in January this year that the film had been green-lit and there is a finished script.

But writer-director Doug Ellin has since said he's not confident the project will get off the ground at all, writing on Twitter last month that it was getting 'less and less likely every day'.

The show ran from 2004 to 2011, over eight seasons.
