Adele was flying the flag for British fashion as she made her eagerly-awaited appearance following the birth of her son at the Golden Globes 2013 tonight.
The Skyfall singer, who is nominated for Best Original Song at the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, made her eagerly-awaited appearance in a floor-sweeping black Burberry creation.
Stepping out on the red carpet, the 24-year-old stuck to her trademark black in the 3/4-length-sleeved creation, which featured a monochrome beaded neckline.
With ruching under the bust and at the shoulders, the empire-line frock made way down to a flowing skirt with a slight pleat.
Adele teamed the look with an old-Hollywood-inspired voluminous 'updo - a look the star typically favours - which helped to showcase the glittering jewels at her ears.
The songstress kept her make up dewy and minimal, with kohled eyes, rose-coloured lips and a hint of blusher at the cheeks.
And she followed in Zooey Deschanel's footsteps by showcasing her nail art - blood-red, glittering nails that added a pop of colour to her black gown.
The London-born star was one of many A-listers who played it safe with black on the red carpet tonight, despite stylists' predicting the Golden Globes to be awash with colour.
Kate Hudson, Rachel Weisz, Nicole Kidman and Eva Longoria were just some of the stars opting for monochrome, but adding a sophisticated twist with jewel embellishments and a variety of cuts.
Colour did arrive on the red carpet, with the likes of Rosario Dawson and Jessica Chastain wowing in the upcoming seasonal trend for pastel colours - while Jennifer Lawrence and Naomi Watts led the red trend.
