Clothing brand Fred Perry is set to release two items from cycling star Bradley Wiggins’ upcoming A/W’12 collection early. Wiggins’ first collaboration with the designer was launched this spring, selling out immediately.

Proving his hero status, when Wiggins won the Tour de France, the UK Fred Perry website received 50 per cent more new visitors – which it did again when he won gold at London 2012.

The new items for A/W include a long sleeve cotton pique shirt (updated with a specially designed Bradley stripe and a rear hem pocket with a sports heritage-style zip) and a classic cotton pique shirt which it’s releasing in three new colours: black, olive and enamel blue.

Wiggins has said that his partnership with Fred Perry is one he “could only have dreamed of” but he’s been so busy winning medals that the second half of his A/W’12 collection, featuring slim fit half zip merino wool shirts with GB stripe detail, will arrive later this year.

The first half of Bradley Wiggins’ A/W’12 drop – featuring the two styles above - will launch at five selected Fred Perry shops in Nottingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Brighton and Paris on the 22 August from 7-9pm.
The collection will then be available in all Fred Perry Authentic shops and online from Thursday.
