I love how a fragrance can totally transport you back to a time, place and mood. That's why with every new season, I'll return to a few old favourites as well as adding a couple of new scents to my collection. Here are my top picks to keep you smelling oh so sweet this spring.
DKNY Sweet Delicious Pink Macaroon
If like me, you adore cupcakes and all things sweet then you'll fall in love with the newest collection from DKNY Sweet Delicious, £35.50, The Perfume Shop. I'm head over heels for Pink Macaroon, a deliciously girly fragrance with notes of nectarine, pomegranate and rose marzipan accord. The range also features a Tart Key Lime and Creamy Meringue fragrance, too.
Enchanted by Accessorize
I like to savour my expensive fragrances and use them for special occasions. Although sceptical about trying a cheaper, high street brand it was the pretty packaging (fickle, I know) that drew me to Enchanted by Accessorize. However, my initial judgements were wrong - it smells light and delicious. For £15 a bottle it's perfect for everyday wear. It's fruity and floral with raspberry, candyfloss and soft jasmine with supporting notes of chocolate musk, vanilla and sandalwood. This is exactly the kind of the fragrance I like to throw in my bag and spritz throughout the day.
Nina Ricci Fantasy Limited Edition
I'm a big fan of Nina Ricci and the latest limited edition Fantasy fragrance, £35.99, from The Perfume Shop does not disappoint. It's fruity, floral and deliciously enchanting. With heart notes of delicate cherry blossom and a romantic touch of rose, it will leave you feeling feminine and alluring on spring evenings. As expected of Nina Ricci, the bottle is delightfully charming, too.
Anna Sui Flight of Fancy
I'm yet to come across a fragrance by Anna Sui that I do not like. Although I'm a fan of all of her fragrances, Flight of Fancy, £26, Debenhams, is one scent that I return to year after year, particularly in the spring. It's light, fruity and sweet with an exotic twist. I also adore the romantic and colourful peacock bottle.
Coleen Butterflies
I don't tend to go for celebrity fragrances but Coleen Butterflies, £25, The Fragrance Shop, really is feminine and pretty. The bottle complete with gold embellished butterflies makes a super girly addition to any dressing table and the scent is perfect for lazy sunny days. With notes of citrus, rose and hibiscus and hints of vanilla flower, nutmeg and rose wood this is a spring time staple.
Peony by Nougat London
Peony by Nougat London, £35, is a classic and beautiful fragrance that combines the scent of the Peony flower with Freesia and pink pepper, with the base note of patchouli. The combination of florals and spice is soft and timelessly beautiful. The 100ml bottle comes with a pretty glass atomiser, perfect for ladies that want a touch of vintage glamour in their lives.
Marc Jacobs Daisy
Marc Jacobs Daisy, £56, Boots, is a classic spring time scent and while it may not be the newest on the market, it shouldn't be overlooked. The fragrance is flirty and happy and I always get asked what I'm wearing when I have it on. With wild strawberry and ruby red grapefruit and base notes of musk and vanilla, it's both youthful and sophisticated.
Red or Dead Release Me
For spring evenings, Red or Dead Release Me, £25, The Perfume Shop is alluring yet feminine. The top notes of plum and base notes of tuberose are synonymous with spring time. There are also hints of orange blossom, coconut and jasmine thrown into the mix, too. I adore the kooky silver birdcage packaging. The fragrance is striking and the bottle certainly standouts from the crowd. I've only just discovered this scent but it's quickly becoming one of my favourites.
