This form of diet omits a particular food or food group from the diet for a set amount of time. Usually this is done to identify a food intolerance or allergy. Often a food diary is kept throughout the diet to recognise patterns and reactions to foods. Often, the eliminated food can be reintroduced gradually into the diet. The common foods eliminated included wheat, dairy and gluten.
