The saying ‘Like mother, like daughter’ has never been more true in the fashion world. It appears Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber has inherited her mother’s supermodel gene.
Crawford’s 10-year-old daughter made her modelling debut featuring in the first ever ad campaign for Young Versace, the new children’s range from the Italian fashion house.
The spring/summer 2012 collection is a mix of signature Versace patterns and the Medusa head logo, mixed with more colourful pieces for children aged 0-12.

Striking her best rock ’n’ roll pose, Kaia wears a cropped leather jacket, a white T-shirt and a black leather pleated skirt embellished with Versace’s signature emblem.
Kaia is the spitting image of her gorgeous model mum - blessed with the flowing brunette locks and long legs that made her a world famous model.
Her appearance in the ads suggests she is now following in Crawford’s footsteps who was a muse for the late Gianni Versace throughout the Nineties.
It seems mum is pleased with her daughter becoming Versace’s new star. “I’m so thrilled that Kaia was chosen to be part of the first Young Versace Campaign,” Crawford said.
“I have so many fond memories of the times I spent with Gianni and Donatella. There is something so very special about the House of Versace. Being on set with my daughter and watching her in front of the camera was a fantastic experience. I am so proud of her.”
The Italian fashion house is equally pleased with Kaia’s first time efforts, Donatella Versace said: “Like her mother, Kaia has a very special gift,' the designer said.’ The camera really, really loves her. Having Cindy on-set for the shoot took me back to all the amazing Avedon shoots we worked on together. It was such a special treat watching Kaia walk in her mother's footsteps!”
With Kaia’s natural talent in front of the camera we can only expect great things from her.
