Celebs and the front row at New York Fashion Week

Heading state side we’re on the lookout for who is on the front row and with New York Fashion Week in full swing, stylish celebrities from all corners of the globe are making an appearance. And here’s who we spotted.

As Alexander Wang presented one of his toughest shows to date with a strong focus on rigid and stiff outerwear, the expected circus of celebrities and high profile editors were rubbing shoulders on the front row. Dressed in marl grey with crisp white skinny jeans and cowboy boots, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris, Emmanuelle Alt gave a steely look on the front row. Clearly she wasn’t too impressed to see her competitor, Carine Roitfeld, previous Editor of Vogue Paris on the front row too. Joined by her daughter, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, like mother like daughter, the pair beamed French chic and class.

Also glowing in Parisian style was French model Caroline de Maigret. Brightening up the chilling Autumn/Winter 2012 catwalks in vermillion red skinny jeans, the French mannequin added a rocky edge to her vivid look with a black leather jacket. Looking uber hip on the front row too with equally stylish pals was musician Lenny Kravitz’s daughter, Zoe. Wearing a rather see-through dress and peek-a-boo boots, we wonder what father, Lenny must think?

And never to miss the action, was Filipino fashion blogger Bryan Grey-Yambao aka BryanBoy and Sweden’s most influential fashionista, Elin Kling. And it wasn’t just the front row which was burgeoning with celebrities, as taking to the stage was super model, Gisele Bundchen who surprised the crowd by closing Wang’s show. Dressed in a heavy leather military trench, Gisele wasn’t the only super model to hit the dark mirrored catwalk, Shalom Harlow and Karolina Kurkova also joined the superstar finale.

Turning up to witness designer Jason Wu come out of his ‘good boy’ shell with a fierce collection was leading trend setter, Alexa Chung. Sporting a bronzed complexion the model looked as stylish as ever (though a little too thin) in head to toe slate grey and was joined by fellow friend and fashionista, Poppy Delevingne who matched rouged lips to a pillar box red tee. Canadian model, Coco Rocha also joined the front row. Sporting greys too, evidently this season’s new black, the model added a bust of colour with an eye-popping designer electric blue clutch.

At Altuzarra not only did stars turn up to watch the show but they were also sporting the label too. Amongst those wearing Altuzarra were American model Lily Kwong in a pretty floral number and granddaughter of Jacques Courtin-Clarins, founder of Clarins skin-care, Virginie Courtin-Clarins, who joined the bright catwalk with her Altuzarra colourful trousers. Clearly beauty and style is in the Clarins’ gene, as joining Virginie on the Altuzarra front row were her equally three stylish sisters, Claire, Prisca and Jenna...their grandfather must be proud!

Over at the Diet Pepsi Style Studio Fashion Show, American actresses Mary-Kate Olsen and Debra Messing were papped with presenter Simon Doonan. And they weren’t the only American stars at the Lincoln Center. Taking a break from US musical drama series, Smash, Jaime Cepero was joined by The Real Housewife of New York City, Ramona Singer to support this season’s rising US talent in the capital.
