Carole Middleton And Breakfast Hats: It's The Best Dressed At Royal Ascot Ladies Day 2012!

What have gigantic Union flags, plastic cooked breakfasts, Olympic rings and abstract taffeta creations got in common? Give up? They can all be seen perched on heads at Ladies Day at Royal Ascot, of course! Oh my goodness gracious! True to form, no one is interested in whether the going was firm to good, soft or heavy – the form of any of the gee gees in question or anything like that. No! All we dedicated frock watchers care about is the loopy-bonkers Ascot fashion – the shiny bad-taste frocks and the novelty hats – the more literal the fancy dress theme – the better! It’s what makes the country Great Britain.

After the amazing array of celebrity race-goers earlier in the week Grazia Daily is proud to present the best of Ladies Day – several royal faces, including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie (looked considerably toned down from some of the previous hat-wearing events) and more than a few pleasing barmy attempts at headwear. Oh – and Welsh sweetheart Katherine Jenkins looking resplendent in silver. Oh, and a Middleton sighting – though only Carole and Micheal Middleton, not he Duchess. The secret of Carole’s fashion success? A brilliantly chic pair of nude heels from Emmy. How marvellous.

Remember – unlike previous years at Royal Ascot, ladies have had to dress to comply with the strictures of a brigade of purple-clad fashion police – who have been on duty, roaming the race course to enforce rules such as ‘dresses and tops should have straps of one inch or greater (No strapless tops allowed)’ and ‘all midriffs must be kept under cover’. Yeeks!

Which looks do you give the thumbs up and down to? You SIMPLY MUST let us know in the comments box below!
