Bridesmaid attends wedding via iPad

A bridesmaid unable to attend her best friend’s wedding could still wish the happy couple “many app-y returns” - thanks to an iPad.

Renee Armstrong was desperate to see pal Jamie Wilborn wed Jonathan Alberico in Denver, but was more than 1,600 miles away in Virginia.

So she was walked down the aisle by an usher holding an iPad connected to her webcam - and witnessed the entire ceremony online.

After the bride said “iDo”, Renee even made it into the wedding photos. Luckily she’d done her make-up to match the wedding theme.

She said: “It was great. I got all teary-eyed during the ceremony and I couldn’t have got that from pictures.”

Newlywed Jamie said: "Renee called dibs to be my bridesmaid many, many moons ago and unfortunately she couldn't physically make it out here, but thank you technology."
