The Braidy Bunch: Kaley Cuoco and Jennifer Morrison Rock Perfect Plaits

We have spotted a couple of really rather gorgeous plaits out and about and it's sort of inspired us to try it ourselves. First we saw actress Kaley Cuoco rocking a braid at Comic-Con International and then we spotted House starlet Jennifer Morrison also sporting a very similar style halo-braid at the same event.

We realise that you kinda need a long mane of locks to style yourself a halo braid like Kaley and Jennifer because you need plenty of hair to be able to plait. We're not talking Rapunzel length but something that's at least to the shoulders is going to be easier to work with rather than a pixie crop that's, well, just pretty darn hard to braid! There are of course a few options to slightly cheat the look such as with a plaited hairband that matches your own hair colour . In fact, looking at some of the beauties who paraded the Autumn Winter 2012 catwalks (where plaits were the look du jour FYI), we think there might have been a little bit of cheating going on...

We have to say that our favourite type of plait is a good old halo-braid just like Jennifer's. It looks super stylish and is one helluva red carpet eye-catcher. To do this yourself at home you'll want to make sure you are fully armed with all the right tools and sprays to make it as easy as possible. We recommend using a bucket load of Boots Hair Grips, £1.49 that match your hair colour, a good quality hairbrush such as Aveda's Wooden Paddle Brush, £18.50, a great finishing product to make hair silky smooth before you plait it - we love L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil, £9.99 and then lastly, a good quality hairspray to hold it all in place. We're big fans of Redken Pure Force 20 Hairspray, £9 which is a backstage staple at all the shows.
