Blood pressure

Blood pressure is a measure of the force that your heart and arteries use to pump blood around your body. Blood pressure is usually shown as two measurements, which are the pressure of blood being pumped around the body and the pressure when the heart is filling up with blood. These pressures are measured in millimetres of mercury with an ideal blood pressure being less than 140 over 90, but blood pressure tends to drop when standing up after lying down.
