It's St George's Day! So here are 11 things that make England awesome

Because the English amoung us are feeling suitably patriotic

It’s St George’s Day and the English among us are feeling suitably patriotic.

England rocks, OK?

Now, we all know that it produced Bowie, The Beatles, the NHS and that guy that made the internet but what about England’s lesser known heros, the more understated and often underrated.

So allow us to honour England’s overlooked exports and a few of the things that truly are just a few things that make us truly proud to be British.

Here are just eleven:

1)    HP sauce

A bacon sandwich savior. First served in the Houses of Parliament you

2)    Peep Show

Yep, English writers Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong totally made this. World of comedy, stand up and have some respect.

3)    Lucozade

Hangovers just got bareable.

4)    Kit kats

Wafer and chocolate that snaps like a dream. What more could you ask for, really?

5)    Bennedict Cumberbatch
We may be a small isle but we did manage to produce at least one Cumberbatch.

6)    Fish fingers

Nutritious and delicious. Fact.

7)    Countdown
Although we admit the conundrums can be frustrating.

8)    The ‘V’ sign

So simple yet so effective. Plus, Americans don’t think it’s rude which makes it even funnier when they do it in photos.

9)    The word ‘loo’

No one else knows what  you are on about and we think that’s pretty awesome. Especially when in America.

10)    Giving directions when you don’t actually know the way

Just, WHY?!

11)    Noel Edmonds

He is about to buy the BBC, afterall.

And so here we are - God save the Queen!
