Trial The Trend: Bold Red Eyeshadow
Red eyeshadow is notoriously difficult to pull off. There’s a fine line with it looking editorial chic and itchy eyed sick.
But with the trend constantly cropping up on the catwalks and on A-listers (most recently J-Lo was seen wearing the look) we couldn’t not give it a try.
From matte bold reds to shimmering cranberry shades there is a shade that suits everyone, but it does take a little bit of experimenting to find it. The trick is to wear the eyeshadow on a neutral base, so no bold lip colours and no defined lash lines.

Darker red shades work well with paler skin tones. A deep red such as Cranberry by Mac (£10) is great shade to start with, not too red with warm purple undertones.
Deeper skin tones have a lot more freedom of choice when it comes to red shades. Bolder colours such as cherry red work extraordinarily beautiful when blended correctly on dark skin - try Shu Uemura’s pressed Vivid Red eyeshaodw (£11).
