TV BAFTAs 2015 Beauty Round-Up: Say Hello To The Braidy Bunch!

It was all about the plaits, up-dos and bronzed glows at the House of Fraser British Academy Television Awards in London, with Michelle Keegan and Millie Mackintosh leading the red carpet…

The fashion trends at the TV BAFTAs 2015 left little to be desired, with sheer dresses, plunging necklines and racy cut-outs taking centre-stage.

But beauty was a whole different ball-game, with trends aplenty from the red carpet at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London.

Here are the top hair and make-up trends from the House of Fraser British Academy Television Awards…

Braidy Brunch

Former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Michelle Keegan channelled boho vibes with her ethereal mint green maxi dress – and her loose French plait complemented this look perfectly.

Nikki Sanderson and Rosie Fortescue were also among the stars rocking plaits on the red carpet.

Elegant Up-Dos

Reality star Millie Mackintosh incredible in an embellished gown, but it was her hair and make-up that really caught our eye last night.

Professor Green’s gorgeous wife showcased a side-swept up-do, created by the expert team at Mark Hill Hair using plenty of Party The Night Away Firm Hold Hairspray, £6.29 to keep it in place all evening.

Millie prepped her skin with Rodial Skincare Dragons Blood Eye Masks (we need these in our lives), while her make-up artist Emily McEwan used the YSL Touche Eclat on her skin.

“Millie has beautiful skin so only the tiniest bit!” she wrote on Instagram.

Donna Air and Lucy Mecklenburgh also rocked elegant up-dos on the red carpet.

Nude Manis

This time last year, we saw an array of bold and beautiful shades on the red carpet, but this year it was all about the classic nudes.

Rosie Fortescue, Michelle Keegan and Lucy Mecklenburgh all flaunted their nude madis on Insta last night.

Bronzed Goddesses

TV presenter Alex Jones certainly turned heads in her racy red gown, and her glowing tan completed her stunning red carpet look.

Jules Heptonstall, Tanning & Skin Finishing Expert at St. Tropez, was the one responsible for her bronzed tan, calling it the ‘Senorita Tan.’

“I applied the St.Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse, £33.00, onto a Tan Applicator Mitt and applied in light sweeping motions, starting from her legs and then worked my way up,” said Jules.

“Once the whole body was covered I used the residue left on my mitt to glaze lightly over the back of her hands and feet.”

He also created Sarah-Jane Crawford’s ‘Bronzed Veil’ look, using the St.Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse and the Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil to ‘give her that extra glow and sheen.’

Matte Red Lips

Plenty of the celebs sported nude, glossy lips to complement their sheer, summery dresses, but it was the bold lip shades that really got us talking.

Beauty blogger/make-up artist extraordinare Sam Chapman, of Pixiwoos fame, led the matte red lips brigade on the TV BAFTAs 2015 red carpet.

She wore MAC's famous Ruby Woo Lipstick, £15.50, which is a blue-toned red that suits cooler skin tones. Her lips were lined with MAC Cherry Lipliner, £12.50, to give definition.

'The Voice' co-host Emma Willis also worked the matte red lips trend, wearing a sunny shade of orange that beautifully off-set her porcelain complexion. We'd recommend MAC So Chaud Lipstick, £15.50, to recreate her red carpet look at home.
