Mums go without so their babies can eat organic

A third of mums forego even regular haircuts in order to afford organic food for their weaning babies

Almost a third of mums would give up regular haircuts in order to afford organic food for their babies, a new survey has discovered. A third of mums polled by baby food brand Plum, are so keen to give their baby an organic start that they’d even give up a regular haircut to afford the higher priced food.

More than a third of the mums forgo organic food in their own diet so their baby can enjoy it and 17 per cent will make the effort to travel to up to four different shops to get their baby’s organic ingredients. A super committed five per cent even admitted spending two hours a day pureeing organic food for their baby’s tea.

But celebrity chef Rachel Allen thinks this is unnecessary. She believes that both mum and baby can enjoy the benefits of an organic diet without breaking the bank. In this video, she joins weaning expert Beverley Glock to explain how to make baby food out of organic ingredients that are suitable for the whole family.
