    Bench press

    A simple weight lifting exercise that tones arm muscles, in particular the triceps, the shoulders and the chest’s pectoral muscles. It is performed by lying back on a bench or on the floor and lifting a weight away from your torso, straight above you towards the ceiling. This is then repeated in sets. Depending on the weight you use, it is advisable to have a partner on hand to prevent injury caused by dropping the weight on to yourself.
